Is there a future for less invasive testing in distinguishing between orbital Hodgkin lymphoma and idiopathic orbital inflammations?
With my former group at the University Medical Center Utrecht, the Netherlands, we published this paper on what we believe can hold great things for future diagnostics in distinguishing orbital non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) from idiopathic orbital inflammatory (IOI) disease. Two diseases that clinically present very similar. The ultimate goal here being to distinguish between orbital NHL and IOI by means of blood analysis instead of orbital biopsy. And in doing so, trying to diminish the amount of surgical diagnostic interventions. It is a tough read for clinicians like myself, but I will be happy to share the full paper with anyone requesting it or not being able to access it online.
